Our Mold Testing Process

Step 1
We can test the breathing air in areas of concern inside of the home or in areas where mold is likely to be present. We can also take physical samples of any visible mold growth in the home.

Step 2
All samples are sent to a professional laboratory for analysis.

Step 3
A report is issued within 3 business days and will notate types and amounts of molds present and if there is a mold problem or not.

Surface Testing
If visible mold is present in your home, your RIA inspector can take a surface sample of the area in question. Surface testing includes one (1) physical sample of the affected area. If multiple affected areas are present, additional samples may be needed.

Air Quality Testing
Some molds release spores indoor, making many problems invisible. Indoor air quality testing includes one (1) indoor air sample in the affected area and one (1) control/baseline sample on the exterior of the structure. If the affected area is larger or if multiple levels in the structure are of concern, additional samples may be needed.

Air & Surface
While some molds release spores into the air, others do not. Combining both air and surface testing will ensure the affected area is properly analyzed. This package includes one (1) indoor air sample, one (1) control/baseline sample on the home’s exterior, and one (1) surface test of the affected area. Each additional surface/air sample is $45. If mold testing is not completed during a home inspection, there is a trip fee of $50.
